The second time I encountered this problem I had forgotten that this was the cause and how to fix it. Ok, so this is really why I wrote this article. Cause 3: The installer/updater doesn’t have access to the network folder / mapped drive Try again when the server is available (or see #1 above). Follow the Steps 3-5 from the above paragraph given for earlier versions.Click "View local services" from the search results.Click the Start button so that the stopped service will restart again. Scroll down, right click Windows Installer service and select Properties.Click Start, type "SERVICES.MSC" in the Search Box.Set the startup type to manual and start the stopped service. Windows Installer service could be stopped. Scan the Registry and fix all issues found. Now download Download Reginout System Utilities.Close Registry Editor and then restart Wrindows.Double click WOW64, type "0" (zero without quotes) and then click OK.HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE | SYSTEM | CURRENT_CONTROL_SET | SERVICES | MSIServer Type the name "wow64", double click it and set "0" (zero without quotes) and press ENTER. To do so, expand the "MSIServer" key and then click Edit | New | String Value. Note: If the "wow64" registry key is not present, make a new one with required value. Repeat the Steps 3-4 of the above paragraph given for earlier versions.Ĭhange the information in the Registry.Click the Home tab in the ribbon interface.Open the root folder and select installation folder.Open the root folder and right click installation folder.Check folder security settings through Folder Properties dialog box. In other words, the folder may not have read/ write/ access permissions and thus the installation fail with an error message. The folder you're trying to install the program may not have enough security permissions.
